1. fish islands We use fish, net and island as the elements to recreate the unique Hongkong water surface structure for future Hongkong. 2. symbol - fishing village From google earth, our design looks like a net and the buildings like swimming fish. Looking from seaside, the buildings appear like jumping fish. Walking on the seaside, one feels like being back in time when Hongkong was just a fishing village. The buildings seem to be the fishermens boats. 3. mixed function park area The west part of the design is the area of business and commuercial. The middle part is the city park, seaside sightseeing and culture plaza. The east part is the art area. All these areas are melting into each other. The whole site is a pedestrian area, the only vehicles allowed are water taxis. 4.integration There are three passages, from north to south, that can be seen from the city. The landscape and ventilation merges through the city. The closer the buildings are to the sea, the greater is the distance in between them. The small islands in the sea consist of laser, fountain, water screen movie and firework devices. Visitors can enjoy those shows at night and during the day. 5.the axis In the middle of the area, the goverment building at Tamar looks like a door. We open and extend it, creating a plaza at the end. The islands match the plaza, make the city appear closer to the sea. 6. infrastructure We use the existing roads form east to west that go around the study area, to deflect traffic around the site. We also keep the short roads going from south to north, and create traffic islands at the end of each road. There is underground parking connecting to the underground traffic. The small roads running along the side closer to the sea allow bus and emergency traffic only. The pedestrian ring road on the waterfront and the water taxi are disconnected from vehicle traffic in the city.
